This family foundation was established in 2006 by Florence Spungen. The Foundation reflects the individual and collective philanthropy of the founders, their children and their grandchildren.
The Spungen Foundation focuses its grantmaking on health related issues, especially cancer research, care and treatment, and Jewish causes. Our geographic focus is in our local communities (the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and Santa Barbara, California), as well as nationally and internationally, when appropriate to the Foundation's mission.
A very important aspect of the Foundation's giving is the practice of ensuring that all grandchildren in the family are educated in and appreciate the need for giving back to the community. Every year, each grandchild is given an opportunity to research and fund a charity of interest to him or her. Are you interested in bringing the Spungen Holocaust Postal Collection to your community? Please contact Danny Spungen (danny@spungenfoundation.org) to learn about organizing a public showing and educational program.
