Concentration Camp Auschwitz
Poison gas experiments began at Auschwitz on September 3, 1941. Mass extermination of Jews and others whom the Nazis considered undesirable or subhuman began in the spring of 1942 and reached its peak in the summer of 1944. The gas chambers were demolished in November 1944.
