Warsaw – Entrapment of Jews
Following the initial registration of the population, Nazi authorities baited and criminalized Jews by encouraging their imagined greed. On this July 24, 1940, post card, the Warsaw prosecutor urgently summoned the addressee and four other Jewish men to his office, ostensibly to collect money. The card was forwarded, and then returned to sender as undeliverable.
The 12-groschen Official stamp paid the local post card postage.
