Flight of Polish Jews
The Warsaw headquarters of HIAS/JEAS sought every opportunity for Jews to escape, but few countries would accept them.

The 50-groschen German occupation provisional overprinted stamp of Deutsche Post Osten (Poland General Government) was valid until September 30, 1940. The internee’s letter was postage free by international convention.
