The foundation typically supports Essential Needs and Mental Wellness work in the trustees’ local communities of Lake County Illinois and Santa Barbara County California. Educational partnerships and activities for Holocaust and genocide education are conducted in more locations throughout the US and internationally.

Essential Needs
- Grants are focused on improving the quality of life for families facing poverty, food insecurity, homelessness, and health care challenges.
Mental Health
- Grants are focused on facilitating social and emotional wellness support for major life transitions and improving access to mental health and wellness treatment.
Holocaust & Genocide Education
- The Spungen Holocaust Collection raises awareness of and facilitates discussion about the Holocaust and breakdowns in humanity. Grants and partnerships support museums and educational institutions.
