On Saturday, September 6, 2025, join the Wauconda Area Public Library as they welcome Holocaust survivor and friend of the Spungen Foundation, Steen Metz, to share his story.
Steen was one of the few Danish Jews captured in 1943. He and his family were deported to Theresienstadt, where his father perished. Steen and his mother were later liberated from the camp by the Red Cross in 1945.
The event is from 2:00 – 4:00 pm Central Time on Saturday, September 6. This event does require registration to attend.
