  • Sunday, July 27 at 1:00 PM U.S. Central Time: tune into the program with the distinguished panel of speakers. A link will be provided to all who register.

The panelists include Ellen Bari, the curator and project director of the exhibition on view at New York’s Museum of Jewish Heritage, Courage to Act: Rescue in Denmark; Therkel Straede, a professor of contemporary history at the University of Southern Denmark and expert on the 1943 rescue of Denmark’s Jews; and Steen Metz, a Holocaust survivor and friend of the Spungen Family Foundation. Steen was one of the few Danish Jews captured in 1943, after which he and his family were deported to Theresienstadt, where his father perished. Steen and his mother were later liberated from the camp by the Red Cross in 1945.
