On Friday August 15, the American Philatelic Society is hosting a special screening of the 2025 documentary, The Stamp Thief, at the Great American Stamp Show in Schaumburg, IL. The movie will be shown at the AMC Streets of Woodfield 20 movie theater (located in the Woodfield Mall) at 10:00 AM Central Time.
Tickets for this event cost $39 USD and can be purchased HERE. Space is limited, so please reserve your ticket as soon as possible.
The Stamp Thief was directed by Dan Sturman and produced by Gary Gilbert, and follows the story of a Nazi officer who, when tasked with cataloging valuables stolen from the Jews sent to concentration camps, stole millions of dollars’ worth of rare stamps and buried them.
After the film viewing, producer Gary Gilbert will host a Q&A session. Gary will also be joined by a local Holocaust survivor, who will speak to the guests.
This event is sponsored by the Polonus Polish Philatelic Society and the Spungen Family Foundation.
