Zion Benton Welcomes Judy Kolb!

February 10, 2026

On Tuesday February 10, 2026 Shanghailander Judy Kolb visited the Zion Benton Township High School and shared her story with the students and community.

Judy first presented to a group of about 40 students. Her talk was followed by a lively Q&A session, where the students asked her nearly two dozen questions about her life in Shanghai as a child and now.

In the evening, parents of students and other members of the Zion Benton community got the opportunity to hear Judy’s story as well. The evening crowd treated Judy to even more interesting questions.

After both sessions, there was time for the students and guests to speak with Judy one-on-one, take a selfie, and get a photo collage flyer (made specially for this event) signed by Judy. Additionally, the Spungen Foundation had a selection of Shanghai related Holocaust artifacts for students and community members to explore.
